An independent feature made in Tokyo, Japan. All practical FX. No CGI. BAKEMONO is a Japanese monster movie inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing with a tentacled transforming creature. It was shot on location in Japan by an American director, Doug Roos (The Sky Has Fallen, Rearranged).

San Francisco’s Another Hole in the Head Film Festival is an 25-day excursion into the realms of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and assorted other genre fare. AHITH has a 20-year tradition of pulling together diverse Independent films of all varieties and budgetary considerations--from major productions by professional companies to micro-budget labors of love, and everything in between.

Another Hole in the Head provides a unique vehicle for independent cinema. This year’s festival takes place from December 1st - December 25th, 2023. Screenings and performances will take place at the historic ROXIE, BALBOA and 4 STAR movie theaters as well as the live theater venue ECLECTIC BOX in San Francisco, CA.
