In honor of Corpses, Fools, and Monsters, an incredible new book by Caden Mark Gardner and Willow Catelyn Maclay that explores the history and future of transness in cinema, the 4-Star is teaming up with Green Apple Books to host a screening on Thursday, November 7 where Caden Mark Gardner will be in person to introduce a film featured in their book. The 1992 docudrama I Am My Own Woman focuses on the true story of trans activist Charlotte von Mahlsdorf set over decades living in 20th century Germany; using both actors and the subject herself to bring her journey to life. The film will be presented in a new 2K scan put together by Elizabeth Purchell (Ask Any Buddy). Copies of Corpses, Fools, and Monsters will be on sale during the event.
