Shelley Duvall Day

About This Event

Note: This event was created prior to Shelley Duvall’s passing, and now serves as both a celebration of her 75th birthday, and a wider celebration of her incredible life. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Duvall’s friends and family during this time.

This July, the amazing Shelley Duvall turned 75! As one of the greatest actresses of all time, Duvall brought an undeniable presence to some of the most exciting films of the New Hollywood era. She was funny and tragic and alien and vulnerable on screen in a way few actors are able to master fully. This can be seen in her brilliant collaborations throughout the 1970’s with Robert Altman, or in her turns in movies by filmmakers like Stanley Kubrick or Terry Gilliam. To celebrate, on Sunday, July 14th, come in for a day featuring a wide range of some of her best films playing from morning to night. Take in her scene stealing roles in comedies like Time Bandits and Brewster McCloud, or experience her electrifying singular performances in 3 Women and The Shining. Throughout, you can also enjoy specially made pre-shows for the occasion highlighting the vast amount of projects Duvall’s been involved with (Wishbone, Frankenweenie, The Ray Bradbury Theatre, etc.).
